DONATE

An estimated 717,000 newborns die each year from intrapartum-related causes and the inability to breathe immediately after delivery.

We train birth attendants in the essential skills of newborn resuscitation, with the goal of having at least one person skilled in neonatal resuscitation present at the birth of every baby.

The first minute of an infant’s life outside of the uterus, referred to as the Golden Minute, should consist of effective breathing, otherwise, attendants must quickly intervene with a mask and ventilation bag. These HBB neonatal resuscitation techniques reduce neonatal mortality by up to 47% and fresh stillbirths by 24%.
